Established in October 2019, the Multi-Species Dementia International Research Network aims to provide a forum in which researchers, activists, policy makers and practitioners can explore multi-species relations in dementia. Our interests range from exploring the effectiveness of animal assisted forms of therapy in dementia care, through to exploring the ways in which personhood and subjectivity in dementia may be shaped through our mutual entanglements with more-than-human life.
The network is currently hosted by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and funded through a Wellcome Trust’s Small Grant in Humanities & Social Sciences.
